Spring Break
Spring break started quietly for me but not everyone else. Most friends left and heading to their favourite vacation.. places like New York City, Miami Beach, Las Vegas.. just to name a few. I usually go on vacation whenever there's a break, not this time. It's not just one simple reason that is holding me back from vacationing. Well, couple of them.. financially tight, job hunting & future doubts. Since graduation, I am no longer getting any money from parents. It's not their decision, it's my decision not to take any from them since I had a part time job. It's just enough to cover my daily expenses. I have to learn to make ends meet.
Job hunting is a nuisance! Every fresh graduate knows this. I had an interview with a Japanese Electrical company in Detroit, Michigan, USA last week. It wasn't an ordinary interview mainly because of my limited knowledge in Japanese language. I was stressed, nervous and excited at that time. However, it was all good at the end.. relieved when it was over. The only complains I had were the driving part. I rented a Dodge Stratus with only 13k miles in it and it took me approximately 3 and a half hours one way. When I was driving back after the interview, I was dozing off frequently. It's dangerous. Some say it's worse than driving drunk. I tried many things to keep me awake.. blasting the music outloud, buying starbucks coffee, a few short breaks for snacks, etc. Well, I was glad that I arrived home safely.
I'm still hunting for jobs. This break would be a good time for me to relax and think of the options I have for my future. At some days, I miss home. I miss my family, friends and the food. No.. I don't miss the hot & humid weather. I want to see my mom to tell her how great she is. She called me occasionally and always ask me if I have enough money. She's recovering from an illness and I wish I could be there to cheer her up. I just want to thank my parents for what they had done. I'm a mature responsible grown-up and what i have now.. is because of my mom and dad. Get well soon, Mom!
